Education: Dave White, founder, specializes in commercial real estate and primarily operates in the New York metropolitan area. He began with a simple traffic light study for the Town of Granby, CT., while a student at the University of Connecticut (B.S. Finance, Real Estate and Urban Economics).

First Real Estate Successes: Dave’s career after college launched by working for an industrial real estate brokerage firm in Norwalk, CT., Cross and Brown in Manhattan and then starting his own firm over 25 years ago.  The firm grew to six employees while exclusively servicing, for eight years, the brokerage needs of F. D. Rich Company, one of the most successful and largest urban renewal developers in the United States with over one billion dollars of property holdings.   In addition to his duties at D. H. White Commercial Real Estate, Dave managed the commercial division of William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty from 1998 to 2008, until the firm was sold.  D. H. White Commercial Real Estate Services exists today with Dave still at the helm.

Building a Reputation: Having successfully completed over 630 transactions, Dave is known for bringing a creative approach, incorporating big picture market conditions, to the successful completion of complex projects.  Examples of these are; the selection as exclusive consultant to the University of Connecticut for the campus relocation to downtown Stamford (Phase1), the lease program repositioning of the 143,000 s.f. office building, Bank of America Tower, in Bridgeport, and the recognition of the undervalued development potential for St. John Towers, in Stamford, resulting in a 4.5 fold increase above appraised land value to $10M.  Another career highlight in 2011 was the disposition by long term lease and fee simple transfer of the $16.5M, 40 acre, sixteen building, orphanage in Blauvelt, NY. to three diverse entities.  Exclusive tenant representation projects over the past decade include; selection by a former Chairman of the New York Stock Exchange, selection by one of the largest reinsurance firms in the world, and some of the larger transactions in the Westchester/Fairfield County area, including; Norwalk Community Health Center $15M lease in 2009 and $25M lease to CEO in Greenwich in 2013.

Since 2009 Dave has concentrated on medical office space, which is an expanding sub-sector of the New York Metro commercial office space economy. He has represented dozens of medical practitioners and institutions including the 2016 Norwalk Community Health Center expansion to approximately 43,000 s.f. and their recent branch expansion into Westport. In order to provide the highest quality services to the medical community, Dave affiliated with Westchester architect David Coffin, AIA, who has extensive global experience in hospital and larger medical practice design and construction administration. The team brings a vast experience base which translates to the client’s benefit as best practices regarding comprehensive medical office programming, design modeling, construction administration, location selection and lease terms and conditions negotiations.

Philanthropic Endeavors: Dave has a strong background in income property appraisal and has held a broker’s license in New York and Connecticut for over three decades. He is most proud of the pro bono work which provided services for many charities including; Greenwich Ambulance Corp., Urban League of Southern Connecticut, Wilton Children’s Center and the 19,000 s.f. offices of Connecticut Works in Bridgeport, CT. He is also peer counseling parents whose children suffer from addiction issues, particularly those with criminal justice problems. He has recently been appointed an ambassador of Shatterproof, whose national mission is to protect children from the family disease of addiction.

Personal Interests: Over the past several years Dave founded the sailing team for Sacred Heart University and restructured the Fairfield University program.  He has combined the two teams where the program has grown to 42 sailors, 25 boats and 5 coaches.  Dave acts as volunteer program director.  In addition, Dave consults, pro bono, for various universities and secondary schools throughout the Northeast about starting or building sailing programs.  When not involved in sailing, he enjoys skiing with his family, while living in North Stamford, CT.
